About
As someone who identifies as pansexual and a second-generation Iranian-American, my lived experiences have given me a broad perspective intertwined with compassion, which I bring into sessions with clients.
Iām a person who often seeks unconventional paths, making my journey to becoming a therapist nonlinear. I come from the creative world of film, photography, and art. Running my own studio for nearly a decade allowed my creativity to run wild and connect with such a beautiful community of artistic souls.
During a challenging period, I started to feel the weight of life's existential questions. Feelings of depression and anxiety that had lingered since childhood started to reemerge. Patterns that I absorbed from my family caused me to bottle my emotions and push others away. Through my personal therapy, I was able to shed layers, learn healthier coping skills, unmask, and become a more authentic version of myself. A desire for a new purpose and ways to help the community around me arose.
On a human to human level, I hope to create a safe space for you to bring your whole self and openly share, where we discover and seek to understand you on a much deeper level, while going on a journey of healing and growth.
Professional Background
I received a B.A in Film and Media Theory from UCSB in 2010. Then, an M.A in Clinical Psychology program at Antioch University Los Angeles, where there was a strong emphasis on social justice, I gained a broad perspective of modalities and multicultural considerations. During my graduate training, I provided individual and group therapy at the Los Angeles LGBT Center.ā
I come from a creative and business background. Until 2022, I was the CEO of Astroetic Studios, a film/photo studio and art gallery, for nearly a decade. It was here that my creativity flourished and provided space for others' artistic endeavors to grow. I became highly attuned to people's needs and very adaptable in an environment that was about creativity and hospitality. Working in a creative field required me to think outside the box and stay on my feet.
